What is Visit Japan Web?
Finally, Japan is open to tourists.
Japan has many things to see, eat and learn. The Japanese people don’t speak English very much and it may complicate your trip, but don’t worry.
At least, they try to understand you even in poor English.
But if you are a little interested in learning Japanese, please come to visit us. This service is run by the native Japanese people!!
However, the problem is that the entry procedure is changing every moment, and this makes it hard for tourists to understand what they should / are recommended to do before entering Japan.
Now, Japan started an online service called “Visit Japan Web“, which is a web service for smooth arrival procedures at airports. This service is for both international travelers and Japanese citizens and this can be used for Quarantine, Immigration, and Customs declaration procedures.
*Visit Japan Web can be used only at the following airports.
→Haneda, Narita, Kansai, Chubu, Fukuoka, New Chitose, Naha.
From the name, you can hardly imagine the service is for smooth arrival procedures…but this system may be used for some period when you want to visit Japan, so let’s memorize the name and how to work, ok?
In my opinion, the procedure should be easier and more simple so that tourists can visit Japan without stress. That is why I decided to summarise the procedure even though it is not completely perfect.

Procedure① (Creation of Account)
First of all, you have to create an account.
Let’s see how to make it and what information will be needed in this procedure.

Visit Japan Web is not so complicated, but after making an account, it is a little bit confusing since there is no instruction regarding what you should do. What is even worse, despite the lack of explanation, arriving in Japan with the Visit Japan Web incompleted will cause problems at airports…
To avoid these problems, I would like to share tips and more details with you.

Procedure② (Registration of Individual information)
The next step is to register the individual information.
As you can see, you don’t have to create an account for each of your family members. After getting to know how to register the representative information, please proceed to the registration of the other members.

At the end of the registration of the individual information, please confirm carefully the information you entered. the mistakes can lead to denial or complications at the arrival airports.
Procedure③ (Registration of Travel information)
Now, you register the travel detail such as the date of arrival/departure, airline information, and the location where you intend to stay.
The information can be changed before the registration, so it is recommended to input the detail as soon as you decide on the trip to Japan.
Procedure④ (Registration of Quarantine, Disembarkation, Customs Declaration)
We can say this part is essential to make it easy to enter Japan.
When you finish this part, only you have to do is wait for the approval and show the QR code at arrival airports.

Choose the applicant
Quarantine
You can’t skip the process, in other words, you have to register your passport first. Then, continue to do it in order from the top.
All information will be analyzed by the Japanese government, and it can take a while to be done. So, registration in advance is highly recommended.
Disembarkation
Only foreigners have to fill in this part. Depending on the answers on the registration of Individual information, this part can be blacked out.
Customs Declaration
Procedure⑤ (Display QR code at the airports)
Now, you have completed all registrations!
After uploading the passport information, vaccine certificate, etc…you have to wait for confirmation from the Japanese government, but the principal task is done.
When all registrations are confirmed, you are ready to land in Japan!!
